Academic Background

Sharon G. Mijares, Ph.D., received her doctoral degree in Depth Psychology from the Union Institute in 1995. Her research, Fragmented Self, Archetypal Forces, and the Embodied Mind, focused on trauma and somatic consciousness from a depth psychological perspective. She is currently lead faculty at the California Institute for Human Science, where she develops courses in Ecopsychology, Somatic Psychology, and Depth Psychology.

She has authored and edited seven books focused on psychological and spiritual development, including The Power of the Feminine: Facing Shadow, Evoking Light and Modern Psychology and Ancient Wisdom.
